Suffering Succotash Apparently I really needed cool weather. I've cooked a lot today.
Over the weekend all I made was : mint extract, devilled eggs, zucchini hash That's really not very much for me. Many peanut butter sandwiches and cheese crackers were consumed.
But today is a different story. I've made: banana bread, zucchini cake (don't tell my housemates, it's for tomorrow, not tonight), cole slaw, cucumber salad, strawberry topping, succotash, ice cubes, small packages of chicken stock (I made it just before the heat but put it into the freezer in one bowl and needed to repack it to store it) & a loaf of whole wheat bread. (The succotash is totally firstfrost's fault.
Tonight I'll roast a cut of pork, prep ginger for pickling tomorrow, and cook stuffing from a box because I'm addicted to that stuff. Yay cooking!
Regarding that mint extract -- so far I've put pristine and clean mint into vodka. It's been sitting there since Saturday. How long should I leave it there? It's pale green and smells of mint right now. I'm thinking of repeating the process with new leaves after I drain these, because I figure there's no such thing as too much mint oil in extract.

Yay cool weather! I went and weeded and did laundry and went for a real walk to get lunch and fixings for dinner. I feel like a whole new person. Congrats on getting so much done. :) ![[User Picture]](http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/63399781/7140335) | | From: | pekmez |

Wow, that's a lot of cooking. You rock! Way to use those farmshare veggies, too (I notice a lot of farmshare ingredients in those projects...)
I won't try anything nearly so ambitious, but tonight, I think I get to go cook something. Standing up. Walking down the stairs. Coming back up them when I'm done, and sitting in whatever room I feel like, in whatever chair I feel like.

The trick is to fill the trays slowly, so that you can fill multiple trays without turning the water off in between. |
